How to use the code

Book on the official website. Go to madmonkeyhostels.com, choose your hostel, your dates and your bed, in a dorm or a private room.

Enter the code at payment. When you pay, type Julien10 in the promo code field, then confirm.

Check the total. The ten percent discount must show in the summary before you pay. If it is not there, the code has not been applied.

The code is meant for a booking made directly with Mad Monkey. If you go through a booking platform, I cannot guarantee it will apply.

Mad Monkey, for which traveller

Mad Monkey is a network of social hostels. You find dorms and private rooms, but above all common areas designed for people to talk, and an atmosphere that makes you want to leave your room rather than stay in it.

It is made for you if you travel solo, if you arrive in a city where you know nobody, or if you want to find people for the evening or the next stop. When you arrive on a working holiday, it is exactly what you need: the first people you meet then help with accommodation as well as work.

If you are mostly looking for quiet to go to bed early, read the reviews of the hostel you choose carefully before booking. The spirit is social first.

My review of the Mad Monkey hostels

I stayed in two of the network's hostels during my working holiday in Australia. In Sydney, at Mad Monkey Bayswater, right next to Kings Cross, so central enough to get around the city. Then in Cairns, at Mad Monkey Central.

A great experience, in both. What really makes the difference is the evenings: there is a themed party every night. It is the easiest way to meet people when you arrive in a city without knowing anyone, and it is exactly what I was looking for at the start of my working holiday.
